…where there is no vision, the people perish…
These words; so simple, so true, so hard to follow, so devastating if you don’t.
I had a vision when I was a child – to make music for people, and for my Maker.
Vision makes you resilient, persistent. It gives you eyes to see in absolute darkness. In a time of no opportunity, vision sees a way, a path.
When I was a fool, I thought this meant that the path would be simple, obvious, easy.
Not so, simpleton.
Vision can make you poor. It can take away everything that is comfortable.
But a life with no vision is just… lost.
Help me keep my eyes on the mark.
Help me see the light when it’s dark.
Help my feet to find the dawn,
and lift my voice with a song,
in the morning.
